There were paws, hooves, and plenty of curious noses at the Cleveland Police Mounted Unit this week as the barn hosted a special visit from Canine Companions.
Dozens of service dogs in training spent the day acclimating to the sights, sounds, and scents of the stables—an important step in preparing for their future roles. From pasture walks to indoor greetings, the horses were excellent hosts, offering calm introductions to their new four-legged visitors.
We’re grateful to the trainers, volunteers, and officers who helped make this experience possible—and to our gentle giants for their patience and poise. It was a perfect day to build confidence, one tail wag at a time.
