The purpose of this event was to not only get together to help improve the relationship between cops and kids, but also to promote swim safety and swim lessons for Cleveland youth, along with raising money for the Hank Adkins Hero Fund, a charity established to help Cleveland Police officers with debilitating or chronic illnesses. The Kids crushed the Cops and Council, and the Cops crushed Council. Channel 20 was there to film a public service announcement promoting the importance of swim lessons at our local rec centers. The event raised over $700 for the Hank Adkins Hero Fund. A big thanks to Commander Jim Chura, Detective Christine Cottom, P.O Anna Mercado, and Commander Debra Cavett and Police Radio for participating and donating. Also, thanks to the Cleveland Recreation Department, all the kids, and especially Destiny Rice, her mother, Shannon, and grandmother, Cyndi, for organizing this great but humbling event.12552582_557243961107507_1573452392075821485_n
