Retired CDP Sgt. Bert Eggelmeyer continues to serve the community with his sidekick Saul Comfort Dog visiting shelters, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. Lutheran Church Charities K9 Comfort Dogs are friends who bring a calming influence, allowing people to open up their hearts and receive help in times of need.
Saul Comfort Dog says: “Bert and Jean took me to the Cleveland Police District 3 Station and after I met the Lieutenant, we went to the Dispatch Department and I made a lot of new friends. Some of them were having a rough day and just needed to give me a hug. I’m so glad I was there for them.”
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
