Police Join Community in Unity

Unity in the Community had to be moved indoors due to the cold day, but that did not stop these kids from having fun.

Officers from Community Policing and the 2nd District mingled with the kids, talked safety, and gave away a couple bicycles and gifts to the children.

Thank you to the Malachi Center for organizing this wonderful event; thank you to the committee volunteers for helping to prep and serve the hotdogs; thank you to Commander Tom Stacho for detailing officers to the event; and thank you Captain Keith Sulzer for the donated bicycles, the use of your grill, the hotdogs and ice cream, and for the conversation with the kids about bullying and safety. We even had a few leftover Christmas stockings to hand out.

This was a very nice celebration of the Second District community! Unity in the community is what this community is all about!!
