- Community Policing and our First District Community Engagement Officers were on hand for the West Park YMCA‘s Senior Safety, Health and Wellness event to talk to the seniors about being safe in our community.
- The Fourth District Lobby Reimagined! Thank you to Saint Luke’s Foundation for implementing this stunning remodeling job with us.
- First District Officers Ross and Raddell recently responded to a call for a missing endangered adult, but fortunately, Elvis, an 18 year old young man with special needs, returned home. The officers found Elvis to be an affectionate young man and were told by his mother that he is often bullied, particularly when he rides his sister’s pink bike. When the officers found out that Elvis’ favorite color is red, they reached out to the Cleveland Police Foundation to get Elvis his own red bike.
- City of Brooklyn Mayor Katie Gallagher recognized residents Matthew Bennett, Josiah Trank and Gideon Trank at the September 10th City Council Meeting. These young men held a summer lemonade stand and raised over $5,000 for fallen Cleveland Police Officer Vu Nguyen’s family.
- The Rice Knitting Club + Upcycle Parts Shop = beautiful human beings. Note the amazing quilt of the Fourth District service area above their heads. — with Nicole McGee at Cleveland Police Fourth District.
- Cops for Kids at visits Metrohealth patients!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation is a proud partner of A Special Wish, Cleveland Chapter. Where else can you hang out with Santa and four beautiful princesses on a September afternoon?
- 2nd District Community Engagement Officer P.O. Carole Hageman recently encountered an incredible woman caring for a friend’s 5 children, all under 8 years old. The children’s parents are going through a tough time and this woman and her husband, who have 2 young kids of their own, are seeking temporary custody of the 5 kids. Officer Hageman reached out to Cops for Kids and was able to provide gift cards and toys to help ease the burden.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation wants to thank Sharon O’Brien and Ami Ryman from Cleveland Clinic Internal Medicine’s Garfield Heights office for donating homemade blankets and hats and gloves for our Providence House Baby Shower and to support our other outreach efforts for the needy in our community!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation wants to thank Sgt. Kyle Stouges from the CPD Property Room for taking the time to speak with CSU Criminology/Criminal Justice majors about evidence and the challenges of managing literally millions of pieces of property. Captain Sulzer, the Liaison to the Cleveland Police Foundation, is a College Now scholarship program mentor, which allows the opportunity for creating positive and practical interactions between police officers and students seeking a law enforcement career
- Det. Kluth from the 1st District recently reached out to the Cleveland Police Foundation to see if they could help out a senior whose bicycle, his sole mode of transportation, was stolen. CPF just by luck had a nice Schwinn bike on hand and was able to deliver Thomas the bike within a day. Thomas, who rides nearly 100 miles a week, was extremely appreciative and surprised that police in Cleveland were so caring!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation again wants to thank Emilie from the Larchmere neighborhood for donating several boxes of childrens’ books to our Little Free Library project. CPF supports 8 Little Free Libraries in police facilities all over Cleveland and has installed 4 libraries at CMSD schools.
- Cleveland Police Community Policing and 2nd District joined our friend Juan Cancel from EMS at the Hispanic Senior Day celebration at La Sagrada Familia Church on Thursday!! The seniors were treated to a great meal, dancing, and a dominoes tournament. Some important takeaways from the event were that these Hispanic seniors were some of the most energetic group of seniors we’ve ever encountered and they sure did have fun, and they take their dominoes games very seriously!
