Cleveland Mounted Unit Joins Kurentovanje Parade

A collage of images from the Kurentovanje Parade, featuring Cleveland Mounted Police officers on horseback, a close-up of the Cleveland Police Mounted Unit badge, and parade participants dressed in traditional Slovenian Kurent costumes. The collage also includes a group carrying flags and a float honoring Catholic war veterans.

Cleveland Police Mounted Officers took part in the Kurentovanje Parade, a lively celebration rooted in Slovenian tradition. The event featured the Kurents—costumed figures meant to chase away winter and welcome spring.

Earlier in the week, the Mounted Unit had a chance to meet the Kurents up close, getting the horses familiar with the parade’s unique and energetic atmosphere.

Thank you to the organizers and all who came out to celebrate this vibrant tradition!
