- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids wants to thank 2nd District Detective John Kubas and family for donating two bikes to Cops for Kids. These bikes will go to children who are victims of crime or as an award for outstanding behavior or achievements.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Community Policing hung out with the kindergarten classes at Harvey Rice to talk safety and the importance of literacy. There is nothing more gratifying then having 25 five-year-olds plead for you to read more books! Literacy, education, and safety are the keys to building a brighter future for Cleveland.
- Young people engaged with Cleveland law enforcement officers and the Public Safety Recruitment Team for mentoring opportunities as part of the Peacemakers Alliance Mentoring Project.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids were proud supporters of the Fathers Matter Event held Saturday at Zelma George Rec Center. Cops for Kids donated a new bike and prizes for the kids, and had an opportunity to interact and play some games with the fathers, grandfathers, and children in attendance. Coach Mike from Zelma George organized a great event that emphasized the importance of fathers taking time out of their days to spend quality time with their children.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Community Policing had the pleasure of speaking to the kids enrolled in the Stomp the Bullying campaign hosted by the Cleveland Chapter of the Guardian Angels.
- The 10th Annual Police/Fire Pancake Eating Contest at Steelyard IHOP was another classic! After the 5 minute regulation the 2 teams were tied at 14 plates apiece!! The tie breaker, a one plate winner take all between CPD’s Captain Sulzer and Cleveland Fire Union’s Lt. Norman. Lt Norman took the match and the team title for the 10th straight year! CFD took home the coveted Cleveland Police Foundation trophy! The CPD’s CPPA union and CFD’s Firefighter’s Union both donated $250 to this great cause. This event kicks off IHOP’s fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network and UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Thank you to Steelyard IHOP owner Dan Campbell, district manager Keith, and radio personality and emcee Munch Bishop.
- Amazing #ASW volunteers and community partners including the CPF worked hard on Saturday February 17 for James’ #BigWish! (A Special Wish Foundation)
- A big Cleveland Police Foundation thank you to Annetta McNeely for knitting over 50 scarves, baby blankets and hats to be distributed to needy families by Cleveland Police officers. Thank you Annetta for thinking of our children and helping Cleveland stay warm!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids wants to thank Tina, her twin daughters, Eleena and Abigail, and the Girl Scouts for donating 60 new stuffed animals to be distributed by Cleveland Police officers to children in our community. They also donated stuffed animals to other law enforcement agencies in the area. A huge thank you to the Girl Scouts for thinking of our children in Cleveland!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation wants to thank our friends at New York Life and their New York Life Volunteers for Good for donating 30 homemade blankets to our Cops for Kids programs. These blankets will be distributed by Cleveland Police officers to kids in need in our community!
- At the Law Enforcement Appreciation Night hosted by the Monsters, over 100 officers and their families were in attendance. Thank you to the Cleveland Monsters for donating some of the proceeds from the game to the Cleveland Police Foundation and Cleveland Cops for Kids!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation wants to thank Hermes Road Racing for donating part of the proceeds to this weekends Chili Bowl Classic 5K to our Cops for Kids Program. Cleveland Fire also will receive some of the proceeds which will be donated to the Gannon Burn Unit at MetroHealth Hospital!
- Congratulations to Cleveland Police Officer Josh McCoy on winning best chili at the Chili Bowl Classic. Hermes will donate part of the proceeds to Cleveland Cops for Kids!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation cooked up 25 gallons of award winning chili today at St. Augustine’s Church for the Chili Bowl Classic 5k. A big thanks to St Augustine’s and Chef Wilbur, Hermes Sports and Joe Neroni, and to Alice and Rose for always beig there for the Foundation and Cops for Kids.
- Community policing is every officers’ responsibility!
- Cleveland Lieutenant Ed Lentz representing CPD at Coffee with a Cop at the Starbucks located on Euclid Ave. This event was in collaboration with University Circle Police Department, University Hospital Police and also the Third District. Big thanks to event organizer Lieutenant David Leff from UCPD.

- The Second District Sock & Underwear Drive benefits homeless people served through the Metanoia Project. Sgt. Mitch Sheehan started this initiative with Metanoia in 2015, and Sgt. Tim Maffo-Judd has picked this up for 2018. Thank you to Sgt. Tim Maffo-Judd and the officers of the Community Services Unit; thank you to Captain Keith Sulzer and the Cleveland Police Foundation; thank you to the Cleveland Chapter of the Guardian Angels; and thank you to everyone in the community who donated to this cause as a way to help people suffering through another Cleveland winter. Thousands of items were collected, including sweatshirts, coats, hats and gloves, along with the socks and underwear.
