In September of 2023, Officers Rodney Munson Jr. and Jamie Vintson responded to a distress call regarding a home invasion. The intruder had forcibly entered a residence, threatened the victim at gunpoint, and robbed him of his cell phone.
Both officers skillfully gathered crucial information from the victim on scene and learned about the presence of a mobile tracking application on the stolen phone. The location of the phone was relayed in real time to the Channel 4 dispatcher.
This key piece of information quickly allowed one of the responding officers, Officer Raul Moyano, to locate the suspect’s vehicle. As a result, the firearm used in the robbery was recovered, along with the victim’s property and illegal narcotics found in the suspect’s possession.
The officers’ coordinated response, rapid thinking, and unwavering commitment to public safety undoubtedly saved lives and made the community a safer place.
It should also be noted that all three officers were awarded the Special Commendation Award at the Fourth District Community Relations Awards Ceremony on October 3, 2025.
It is because of their dedication and devotion to the community they serve that the Cleveland Police Foundation is honored to bestow upon Patrol Officer Rodney Munson Jr., Patrol Officer Jamie Vintson, and Patrol Officer Raul Moyano our Police Officer of the Month Award for January 2025.
