This past Veterans Day, the City of Cleveland honored Cleveland Police Detective Christopher Porter with the Martin Flask – Veterans in Service to the City of Cleveland Award.
Named after the former Chief and Safety Director Martin Flask, the award recognizes the continuing commitment service made after serving in the uniform of the U.S. military.
Detective Porter is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and still serves in the Coast Guard Reserve. He is currently serving in the CPD Employee Assistance Unit where he is part of the team overseeing programs that support the mental health and wellness of officers in the Division, including serving as the handler of Apollo, the Division’s therapy dog.
Chris’s recognition includes the work he has done in this area outside of his normal CPD duties. Congratulations, Detective Porter.
