On September 20, 2023, the Cleveland Division of Police Third District Community Relations Awards Ceremony was held at the Fatima Family Center. A fine crowd turned out to pay tribute to both CPD officers and citizens who have gone beyond the call of duty while serving their community.
The Cleveland Police Foundation also participated by presenting our Community Service Awards to the Third District Patrol Section, Ricky Lewis, a local artist and social activist, and the Minutemen Company.
The hosts for the event were our own Executive Director Rick Dechant and Channel 19’s Harry Boomer. Also attending were Mayor Bibb, Chief Drummond and numerous other city officials. Representing the CPF and assisting me in handing out our plaques were Board Chair Dick Clough and Rick DeChant.
After the ceremony, a delicious meal was served and enjoyed by all. Congratulations to all the recipients, and a big thank you goes out to all those who turned out to honor these very special individuals at this event.
