- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cleveland Cops for Kids visited the children and their families at MetroHealth Hospital on Thursday March 29 to help brighten up their Easter Holiday!! The kids and families received Easter baskets, gifts, and best wishes from our Cleveland Police officers!! We hope everyone had a blessed Easter Sunday!
- Our CPD Dispatchers put together and distributed Easter baskets for the children and families served by Edna House and the Domestic Violence Center. Thank you to all those who donated money and items for the baskets, and to our dispatchers for making the Easter Holiday a happy one for so many in need!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cleveland Cops for Kids cooked breakfast for the kids, families, and staff at Ronald McDonald House on Easter Sunday.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cleveland Cops for Kids joined officers from the 1st District at Blessed Trinity Church on Saturday for the City of Cleveland’s Community Relations’ and Councilman Kazy’s Easter Egg Hunt. Hundreds of kids and their families had a wonderful time with the Easter Bunny, tracked down some eggs, won some prizes, ate lunch, and had some Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream for dessert!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cleveland Cops for Kids had the honor and pleasure of supporting A Special Wish Foundation and the Cleveland FBI in granting a wish for an amazing nine year old, Oliviah Hall. Oliviah is battling a rare form of brain cancer, but despite all of her health issues, she was an inspiration to everyone she met! She was sworn in as an FBI Agent for the Day and went through an abbreviated FBI Academy.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids supports and donates to the Special Olympics and Down syndrome events. We’ve had the pleasure of supporting the St. Augustine’s Special Olympics Powerlifting Team and watching them train. The dedication of the athletes and coaching staff is inspirational!
- A big thank you to all who attended April 3’s big win for the Cavs! Thank you for supporting our outreach efforts at the Cleveland Police Foundation.
- We know for sure that Lieutenant Ed Lentz from the 5th District had a great St. Patrick’s Day! Lieutenant Lentz painted junior police badges green and passed them out to the parade crowd, and took some great pictures along the way!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids received a foosball game and air hockey game from the Jones family in Avon. The games were donated to the Cleveland Guardian Angel‘s youth program at St Augustine‘s Church campus. Thank you Joanna, Kyle, Ethan, and Jared for thinking of our kids in Cleveland!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and West Park Family YMCA hosted Coffee with a Cop and the Councilmen on Thursday afternoon March 8th. The officers served as judges for the YMCA seniors’ chili cookoff!
- Cleveland Police Community Policing joined the Hispanic Patrol Officers’ Association ( HPOA) at Lincoln West High School for the United For Puerto Rico resource event on Saturday March 3. Several resource organizations were on hand to provide support and information for the Hispanic community, many of whom were displaced from Puerto Rico after the island was ravaged by Hurricane Maria.
- Congratulations to the 42 men and women who graduated on March 2nd and were sworn in by Mayor Frank G. Jackson as new police officers. They’ll serve neighborhoods throughout #CLE as patrol officers.
- Campus International School and the 3rd District’s Officer Tony Tomara had a great time on Crazy Hair Day! Officer Tomara stopped by the school during lunch and got to hang out and take a few selfies with the kids. Tony understands the importance of police officers developing a positive relationship with the children in our community!
- Sergeant Stephanie Murphy received the “Game Changer: Women Leveling the Field” Award today from the City of Cleveland for Women’s History Month. Sergeant Murphy is the first female sergeant to lead the Motorcycle Unit. Congratulations!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cleveland Cops for Kids want to thank Fr. Doug Brown from Mary Queen of Peace Church for donating 45 Easter baskets for distribution by Cleveland Police officers. Fr. Doug received the Easter baskets from the good parishioners at St Basil the Great Catholic Church in Brecksville!
- Cleveland Cops for Kids spent some time with some amazing kids, staff, and families at St Mark’s School on Friday supporting their St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraising event to fight childhood cancer! Cleveland Cops for Kids had the honor of donating to Cleveland Police Sergeant Brian Allen’s and his daughter Jillian’s fundraising team.
- Capt. Sulzer took students at Adlai Stevenson to Payless to shop for shoes and then to Mitchell’s Ice for. The kids loved it!
