- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Community Policing joined the 2nd District at Stockyard Community School to support the Tough Love Cleveland (TLC) program. Prisoners from Grafton Correctional’s DOPE is for Dopes (Death Or Prison Eventualy) speak to the children about the poor decisions they made in their lives , the reality of prison, and the consequences they’ve faced as a result of those poor decisions. The prisoners emphasized the importance of education, the quality of the people you hang around with, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and family!! Thank you to Roger from Grafton Correctional, and to Stockyard Community for allowing us to interact with your students.
- The Cleveland Police Foundation received a donation of brand new t-shirts from our friends at Sports Focus. CPF donated the t-shirts to St Paul’s Community Outreach to be distributed to those in need in Cleveland!!. “A huge THANK YOU to Captain Keith Sulzer and CPF for the donation of these beautiful new t-shirts for the men and women of St. Paul’s. About 100 t-shirts were distributed today, and there are many more in the other boxes. Your friend Alvin is in the second photo, and there is the never ending question about which one of you is the more handsome guy. I don’t know anything about that, but I do know that you are both great guys!”-Bob Shores, St Paul’s Outreach
- The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids want to thank all those who supported our Cops for Kids Fundraiser on Saturday at the CPPA Hall. We had a great time and raised money to support our Cops for Kids programs and projects throughout Cleveland. A big thanks to Crust, The Third Place, True Value Hardware, Home Depot, Blue Line Financial, the Browns, Indians, CPPA, and Councilman Brian Kazy!!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation fielded a team at the Literacy Cooperative’s 2nd Annual CLE-BEE Corporate Spelling Bee on Thursday evening at The City Club. 24 teams from around the Cleveland area faced off for a great cause, promoting literacy in Cleveland!! Thank you to my CPF teammates Shannon Musson and Sgt. Tony Gorsek, and a big thanks to The Literacy Cooperative and Bob Paponetti for sponsoring the CPF Team!
- Cleveland Police Community Policing and the Cleveland Police Foundation had a great time with the kids at Louis Agassiz Elementary talking police, safety, and the importance of education!! The Cleveland Police Foundation even donated several large boxes of school supplies to the teachers and students!! Thank you Ms Roche for inviting us!!
- Nothing puts a smile on a principal’s or teacher’s face like free school supplies!! The Cleveland Police Foundation received a large donation of school supplies from Steelyard Target and distributed the supplies to Louis Agassiz, GW Carver, Harvey Rice, Clark Elementary, and St Augustine’s. Thank you Target for thinking of our children in need in Cleveland !!
- Cleveland Cops for Kids presented some gifts to 4 yr old Carter courtesy of the Cleveland Browns!! Carter was a victim of a horrific drive-by shooting recently and the Browns wanted to do something special to pick up his spirits through his recovery. The Browns gave him 2 Browns footballs, a hat, t-shirt, blanket, signed photos, backpack, puzzle, a Browns children’s book, and a personalized note from the organization. Carter, as you can tell, is doing great and we wish him and his family good luck in the future!!
- Cops for Kids at MetroHealth visited the kids, families, and staff at the Pediatric Unit and passed out toys, badges, and coloring books. This was 2nd District’s Officer Vince Seminatore’s last day before retirement and we made sure he was leaving us with a smile!! Thank you Metro staff and 4th District Officer John Greczanik, and a huge good luck to all the kids and families and to Officer Seminatore!! The Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids are investing in a safe community!!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation received 100 large shipping boxes from Clark Ave. Uhaul to donate to our good friends at the San Lorenzo Club to be used for shipping much needed supplies to Puerto Rico!! Thank you Cory and Scott from Uhaul for helping bring needed supplies to Puerto Rico. An even bigger thanks to all those who donated to this relief effort and especially to the San Lorenzo club for leading the way to help those in need!!
- The Cleveland Police Foundation was proud to support the Mira Family Charity : Operation Houston donation drive to support the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. Retired CPD officer Merilyn Bright wanted to pitch in and help, so she contacted the Cleveland Police Foundation and we met at Costco where she purchased $600 in supplies to donate. We even ran into retired CPD Lt. Bill Mone who helped us load up the supplies. A big CPF thank you to Merilyn, Bill, and especially the Miragliotta Family for helping those in need in Houston!!
