When Sister Mary Jean was robbed of her vehicle in the Collinwood neighborhood all she asked of the thug was to get the school supplies and school basketball uniforms inside. The Cleveland Police Foundation and 5th District were amazed that during this crisis all she cared about was her children at St Aloysius. When CPF and Cops for Kids went to Steelyard Target to purchase $50 in school supplies to help replace some of the stolen items, Target stepped up and donated an extra $200 in supplies. Target’s Loss Prevention Team Leader, Mike Rollins, then donated over $50 of his personal money to make the total donation $300. It’s at times like this that the community truly comes together, and this is what community policing looks like in Cleveland. Thank you to the 5th District’s Commander Sam Morris and Lt. Ed Lentz, Steelyard Target and staff, and Mike Rollins for joining the Cleveland Police Foundation and Cops for Kids in investing in a safe community. May God Bless Sr. Mary Jean and the Ursuline Nuns, and the children and staff at St Aloysius School!
