Walk with a Cop and a Doc

The John Michael Kick Memorial – First Fallen CPD Officer

The Cleveland Police Foundation and Community Policing led Lutheran Hospital‘s Healthy Strides Walk with a Cop and a Doc on Saturday, July 29. Captain Keith Sulzer and Dr. Steven Meldon talked about health and safety and led the group on a 2 mile walk around Ohio City. The group stopped at the Officer John Michael Kick Memorial burial site at the Monroe Street Cemetery. Officer Kick was the first Cleveland Police officer killed in the line of duty in 1875. The memorial was built with private funding raised by the Friends of Monroe Street Cemetery and the 2nd District Police/Community Relations Committee and the Cleveland Police Museum. A big thanks to Janice Gonzalez from Lutheran Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Doctor Steven Meldon. Thanks also to all those who attended. May you continue to walk safely for your health!!
