Cleveland Police Foundation Heroes Fund Is Now Accepting Donations in Memory of Officer Ritter

Honor Officer Ritter with a Heroes Fund Donation

(Cleveland, Ohio) Cleveland Police Officer Jamieson Ritter was shot and killed in the line of duty early on Thursday July 4. Officer Ritter served our community with dedication and bravery. He was committed to protecting and serving Cleveland.

“To honor Officer Ritter’s memory, we are inviting our community to donate to the Cleveland Police Foundation’s Heroes Fund in memory of Police Officer Ritter,” said Dick Clough, Chair and President of the CPF. “Our Foundation will provide support to Officer Ritter’s family. He is a real hero and deserves our respect. He gave his life in the line of duty while serving the community he came to love.”

The Cleveland Police Foundation Heroes Fund provides support to police officers and their families when an officer is killed or seriously injured in the line of duty, a catastrophe impacts the officer’s family, or officer wellness, mental health or morale challenges occur. Right now, dealing with the death of Police Officer Ritter will be supported by the Heroes Fund.

Police Officer Ritter and his partner were recognized in June as the CPF’s Officers of the Month for saving the lives of four citizens and helping others. He lived in Olmsted Falls. He was one of 18 officers who joined the Division of Cleveland Police on November 30, 2020. He hails from Rochester, NY and graduated from Syracuse University. He was a member of the Ohio National Guard and was deployed to Syria in 2022. He was assigned to the Third Police District.
