Food for Clevelanders

The City of Cleveland came together at Sterling Recreation Center at East 32nd and St. Clair on January 3rd to help our residents during this frigid winter cold spell!! The Cleveland Food Bank and dozens of volunteers distributed 6,000 pounds of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other foods. The Cuyahoga County Department of Taxation offered assistance to residents as did the Department of Aging. The Council of Economic Development of Greater Cleveland also was there to offer employment assistance. Cleveland Police Community Policing was on hand to discuss safety issues with residents. This was a great event proving that Cleveland truly does care for the community!! A big thanks to Cleveland’s Asian Liaison Chia-min Chen, Sterling Rec staff and manager Gabe Ramos, Mary McNamara from the Department of Aging, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Councilman Basheer Jones, and all of the volunteers that helped make this a great community effort!!
