Welcoming Community Policing Officers

This past May, I was invited along with Cleveland Division of Police retired Officer Jeff Stanczyk to speak with the fifteen officers now detailed to the Community Policing Unit about their new assignments. We discussed how it will be different to see people in a different way as most of these officers came from zone cars within the five districts.

These fifteen officers will now be assigned to but not confined to (3) to each district and will have the opportunity to go out and make friends and help bring the community and officers back together again. They are an ambitious and eager group of officers who are dedicated to the Community Policing concept and I wish them good luck in their new assignment!

I would like to thank Sergeant Higgins for the invitation to speak with these fine officers.
