The Fatima Family Center was the location once again this year for the Third District Police Community Relations Committee Awards Program. A large turnout of residents were on hand to witness numerous police officers, and Third District citizens receive recognition for going beyond the call of duty while performing their individual jobs. The ceremony was planned by Third District Lt. Kevin Coleman, emceed by Channel 19 reporter Harry Boomer, and also on hand were Mayor Frank Jackson and other city dignitaries. In addition to the Third District Awards I represented The Cleveland Police Foundation to present our Community Service Awards given yearly at all five district awards ceremonies. Our police officer recognized was Vu Nguyen, the organization we awarded was the Salem Media Group, and the individual receiving our Community Service Award was Reverend Hilton Smith, of the Greater Abyssinia Church Group. The Cleveland Police Foundation would like to congratulate all the recipients for a job well done and also thanks to everyone that attended. It was sure nice to see the Fatima Center filled with not only officers and citizens receiving their awards but also residents of the community who were willing to spend a few hours of their evening recognizing these individuals. Congratulations to all…..Bob Guttu (C.P.F.)
