Marching for the Fallen

Cleveland Police Pipes and Drums march in formation along a city street during the NCLEES Memorial March

During National Police Week 2024, members of the Cleveland Division of Police Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums Band joined law enforcement from around the country for the 31st Annual Pipeband Memorial March in Washington, D.C.

The event, hosted by the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies (NCLEES), brings together public safety bands and honor guards to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

This year’s march carried special weight for Cleveland, as Officer Jamieson Ritter was among those newly added to the wall at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Members of the Honor Guard and band were present for the ceremonies and tributes surrounding his name’s engraving.

The Cleveland Police Foundation is proud to support these dedicated officers as they represent our city with pride, dignity, and compassion during this solemn occasion. Their presence ensures that our fallen are never forgotten.
