Good Bye and Good Luck, Captain Sulzer!

The August Board of Directors’ meeting of the Cleveland Police Foundation was very special!  It was held at the recently completed Officer Derek Owens’ Memorial Park with an added tribute to honor the now-retired CPD Captain Keith Sulzer who was also Liaison Officer of the CPF.

After an abbreviated meeting, Captain Sulzer gave an informative tour of the park.  He explained how this mission of love for another officer became a reality through a combined effort of numerous trade unions, community funders, volunteers, and of course Captain Sulzer himself.

It was then time to celebrate his tenure as a dedicated and devoted officer!  Everyone there enjoyed a beautiful cake and handed out a plaque and other trinkets.  The CPF thanked the captain for all his efforts in not only improving the relationship between officers and the community but helping to make the Cleveland Police Foundation what it is today.

Thanks to all the board members that attended and special thanks to CPF Community Outreach Coordinator Bob Guttu and Office Administrator Marilyn Jech for putting this celebration together.

Thank you again, Captain Sulzer and here’s wishing you a healthy and happy retirement!
