Monday marked an important milestone for the First District of the Cleveland Police Department, as they concluded their ten-week collaboration with the RISE program at the West Park YMCA.
RISE, a national nonprofit focused on eliminating racial discrimination and promoting social justice in the sports community, played a key role in connecting the First District officers with a group of talented young individuals in our community. Officers Adams, A. Thompson, Scott, McNamara, Flores-Galarza, and Bellomy all worked diligently over these weeks to forge stronger ties with these promising future leaders.
The First District CPD extends a heartfelt “thank you” to all the young men and women who actively participated in this journey. The success of such initiatives reaffirms our commitment to continuous community engagement and highlights the potential that lies in our city’s youth.
