Celebrating Father’s Day with a Nod to Literacy

On June 16, the Cleveland Police Foundation joined the City of Cleveland Community Relations Department at Urban Kutz Barber Shop on Pearl Rd for Father’s Day Read!! We had a wonderful time talking with the kids, fathers, and families about the importance of literacy. Each child received a gift bag with a toy, coloring book, badge, and most importantly a book or two. We also shared some Jack Frost Donuts and Honey Hut Ice Cream!!

Thank you to Waverly and Lamont from Urban Kutz, Chris from Literacy in the Hood, and Ann Price. A big thanks as well to Margaret Bernstein for donating many copies of her book “All in a Dad’s Day” and Bruce from Honey Hut. Everyone worked together to promote literacy, fathers, and community!!
