A Beautiful Symbol at Officer Derek Owens’ Memorial Park

Officer Derek Owens’ Memorial Park at 10409 Parkview Avenue has taken on new meanings with the addition of the Compass Rose!

The compass rose symbolizes spirituality as well as physical direction, not all who wander are lost.  The compass rose is sometimes called the Rose of the Winds, and represents spiritual direction, awakening and discovery. The directions NSEW of the winds represent infinite possibilities, the present, the past, and the future.

A big thanks again to Barry Dijulius and the Cement Masons Local 404 and their apprentices.  Also, Tech Ready Mix and Euclid Chemical donated the concrete and the caulk for all the concrete cuts.

Much appreciation for a great job done by all!
