There is an acute need for a cargo truck to support the CPD’s youth & community outreach & engagement efforts. The need was identified by the officers in the Bureau of Community Policing for a truck for
• Supporting the Cops For Kids Program (CFKs) as well as the other police charitable efforts
• Transporting equipment such as bicycles, tables, chairs, tent canopy, grills, coolers, etc. into the neighborhoods in support of the officers community engagement events.
• Serving for equipment storage and lessen the demand on officers time to load/unload from a storage facility, making their work more efficient and reducing the risks of injury.
We inquired a few months ago if the City could provide the vehicle and was advised that none were available. Your help is needed to help our officers reach into the community.
The actual amount needed is $10k, however the Saint Luke’s Foundation awarded a grant for 50% of the cost. The challenge now is to raise the remaining balance. Please help us achieve our goal to purchase this truck. Click here to support the Cops for Kids Program…
