The Cleveland Police Foundation’s Random Acts of Kindness Project
2nd District Patrol Officer Tim Maffo put a bug in the ear of Captain Keith Sulzer of the Bureau of Community Policing and Liaison Officer to the Cleveland Police Foundation (CPF) about giving something back to the citizens of Cleveland during the Christmas holiday season. Sulzer asked a very special friend of the CPF for some help, and received a $2,500.00 donation. An additional $1,500.00 in donations was received from several other donors to bring the total to $4,000.00. Gift cards were purchased from local businesses to be given as random acts of kindness. The cards were then distributed throughout the city to POs and Detectives where they were given out during traffic stops in lieu of tickets, and to families or individuals in need. The photos and news story video are testimony to some of the Christmas cheer brought by our Cleveland police officers. This endeavor was made possible by the generosity of our “Secret Santa”, Councilman Joe Cimperman, Dan Blazy, the Doyle/Sponsellor/Speary Family, channel 3 News, and Harry Buffalo in partnership with the CPF. A huge thanks to them for making it possible for us to participate in such a wonderful experience.
