Officer Down Tournament Set for April 26–27

Members of the Guardians of Hope softball team pose on the field following a past tournament.

I attended the “Guardians of Hope” fundraiser this past weekend. This event was held to support the softball team mostly comprised of our CPD officers.

This of course falls into place with the Cleveland Police Foundation’s mission statement to seek out and fund innovative approaches to relieve job-related stress and trauma.

They will also host an “Officer Down” softball tournament on April 26–27, 2025 at Brookside Park to benefit the families of CPD Officer Jamieson Ritter and Euclid PD Officer Jacob Derbin.

Good luck to the Guardians of Hope, for a successful softball season.
