The Public Safety Career Pipeline Summer Program helps to increase minorities in law enforcement. It is a six week/hands-on program where youth learn through a curriculum focusing on different areas of law enforcement with related field trips. Graduation requires 90% attendance, a resume, mock interview, a Capstone project, CPR certification, and creation of a website and personal brand.
This year, the third for the program, took place at the East Professional Center of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. To note is the progress on the Consent Decree as fulfilled by the Cleveland Police Foundation through the program.
Angela Thi Bennett, CPF Director of Development and Programming administers the various aspects of the program. She affirms the transformative effect on the youth. Several are already being employed by Tenable Security Services.
The Closing Ceremony is Thursday August 1st at the Cleveland City Hall Rotunda at Noon. RSVP to abennett@clevelandpolicefoundation.org
