The finishing touch was completed at the boxing gym located at the Estabrook Recreation Center as a desk was donated, and delivered by the Cleveland Police Foundation and will be utilized by boxing coach Johnny Nieves. This finalized a complete renovation of the gym, as the Cleveland Police Foundation donated a ring, mirrors, and heavy bag, in the last few months. Also on hand for the completion of the gym was Captain ” The Kid ” Sulzer, Liaison Officer for the Foundation who not only put on an impressive boxing display for the kids, but also made a monetary donation, as well as providing some much needed boxing equipment. The kids in attendance expressed their gratitude for the equipment, and echoed Coach Nieves sentiment when he stated ” We are most grateful to the Cleveland Police Foundation, and Captain Sulzer for all you have done to make this dream come true”. This boxing program at Estabrook is sponsored by the Cleveland Police Athletic League, and The Cleveland Police Foundation we are proud to assist their efforts to make projects such as this available to the youth of our city.
