Sept. 20 Chili Cook Off

On Saturday, September 20, 2014 the 2nd District Community Relations Committee held its annual Chili Cook Off at St. Rocco’s Church on Fulton Rd. The competition was as hot as the chili as the tasters sampled each individual’s offering then placed their ballot in a box. Of course there could be only one winner and after the ballots were counted that winner was Captain Keith Sulzer, with second place going to Commander Tom Stacho. Plaques were awarded to both individuals and talk among the other contestants was that Sulzer got “feel sorry” votes because of his broken leg. I guess we will have to wait until next year when his foot is healed to see if he can repeat. A big thank you goes to all the contestants and tasters who participated and all proceeds will support the charitable activities of the Second District Community Relations Committee.
