Interacting with Police and the Use of Firearms

What about the police and the use of firearms?

Recent legal decisions concerning deadly force brought about the revision of the chapter pertaining to the Use of Deadly Force by Cleveland Police Officers.

Simply put, an officer may…….

* Use his/her firearm when a life threatening situation is perceived.
* Use deadly force when there is a clear threat of death or serious bodily injury to self, another officer or bystander.

To avoid situations where force or firearms could be used do not take action or make movements that could be perceived as a threat. These situations happen in a split-second, usually at a time of heightened emotions…therefore, STAY COOL & CALM!
